Two suspects, Hammed Olawale and Japhet Oderinde, were taken into custody by Lagos State Police Command officers from the Igando Division following a conflict between rival cults.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s public relations officer, revealed this on his X account on Sunday.

A locally made semiautomatic pistol was found on the suspects, according to Hundeyin, who also stated that other suspects are being sought after.

Additionally, he said that Abeeb Fagbohun had been shot and was being treated at a hospital.

He stated, “Officers from the Igando Division have detained 20-year-old Hammed Olawale and 23-year-old Japhet Oderinde after they responded to a distress call indicating that two competing cult groups had gone on the rampage.

The two suspects were discovered in possession of a semiautomatic handgun made locally that held four live 9mm bullets.

After being found shot, 26-year-old Abeeb Fagbohun was rushed to the hospital right away. Arresting individuals who are escaping is a high priority.
