On September 7, 2000, in Lagos, Faithia Zenabu Williams wed Saidi (also known as Saheed Balogun). Saheed Balogun had 22 years of acting experience by the time he married Fathia, who had just started her career in Nollywood.
This was Saidi’s second marriage; she had previously wed Sherifat (Serifat) Balogun. They gave birth to two children, Zinnat and Jamal. Some accounts claim that Fathia’s marriage was not her first. Although she didn’t reveal the identity of her first husband, they did have a daughter together.
For a few years, the couple gave off a serene look. The first child of the marriage, Khalid, was born on July 11, 2002. After several years of marriage, on April 3, 2005, their daughter Aaliyah was born. Everything seemed to be working properly.

However, that was untrue; Fathia and Saheed abruptly broke up in March 2006.
Nobody is certain of what occurred to this day. Some claim that Saheed and Fathia were having an affair, while others assert that it was the other way around. Some people even go so far as to say that they were once both unfaithful.
But here’s the catch:
They stopped living together in 2006, but they didn’t formally divorced until 2014. The split couple was regularly in the news for years due to yet another argument.
There were speculations that Saheed married another woman even though he was still legally wed to his wife. However, given that Saheed is a Muslim, that is not at all surprising. Numerous media publications reported that Saidi dated Funke Adesiyan and Funke Elegushi during the interim period between the separation and the divorce.
Someone created another rumor in 2014, this time claiming Fathia and Saheed were reuniting. Faithia did not refute them, claiming in one of her interviews that she was still Saidi’s wife technically. Nonetheless, Saheed came out and definitively disproved them, therefore ending any prospect of them reuniting.
The couple’s divorce papers were leaked to the media not long after. It was discovered that Saheed had filed for divorce in April of 2013. Judge O.O. Atilade ultimately signed the petition for divorce on January 17, 2014, ending Faithia and Saidi’s marriage. The latter was granted the right to visit his children at any time.
