The Nollywood, or Nigerian, film industry, has developed and produced high-caliber films that keep audiences riveted to their screens. Unknown to some, several of these films were filmed outside of Nigeria’s borders.

Here are a handful of them that we’ll examine. Five Nollywood films that were filmed in the US are listed below;

1. Special Jollof

2. Muna

Kevin Nwankwor is the director of the 2019 Nigerian action criminal drama movie Muna. The main character of the movie, played by Etomi Adesua, is a lively young African girl who narrowly escapes a child sex trafficking organisation, ends up in America, and trains as an assassin with the intention of exacting revenge. Muna, who is prepared to destroy the entire corrupt organisation, develops feelings for a significant opposition leader.

The United States served as the location for some of the movie’s scenes.

3. Ijé

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji feature in Chineze Anyaene’s 2010 Nigerian drama film Ijé. Chioma, a young idealistic woman from Nigeria who comes to America to help her blood sister Anya, who is charged with the murder of three men, including her own husband, is the centre of the story.

The film was made in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Ten years ago, the action drama film Black November from Nigeria was released. Akon, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Mickey Rourke, Kim Basinger, Sarah Wayne Callies, Nse Ikpe Etim, and Persia White are among the cast members in Jeta Amara’s film Black November.

Some of the sequences in the movie, which depict the struggle of the Niger Delta people to protect their ecosystem from ongoing harm caused by excessive oil drilling, were filmed in Los Angeles, California, in the United States.
