Wizkid performed at a royal wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in India, one of the most prestigious private residences in the world, in 2018, and as a result, he became one of the highest paid artists in the world for bookings. 50 million Rupees ($681,200, N245.9 million) reportedly went to Wizkid.

Although his parents worked as civil servants, Wizkid was born into a low-income family because they were unable to pay for some basic needs at home. Wizkid was raised in Surulere’s Ojuelegbe neighborhood in Lagos State.

Wizkid began regularly visiting the studio and showcasing his talents through freestyling and music challenges in an effort to lift his family out of poverty. Wizkid was not as fortunate as some musicians who were “born with golden spoons” and had billions in their accounts even before they started making music. In order to achieve his goals, he practically turned into a studio rat by sleeping and eating in well-known studios. However, he is now a huge success.

2. Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, is one of Africa’s wealthiest music producers.

Don Jazzy is well-known and adored for his artistic abilities. He is a founding member of Supreme Mavin Dynasty, also known as Mavins Record.

Since he began inspiring younger generations decades ago, Don Jazzy has gained enormous respect throughout the continent, which has bowed to his solo and collaborative music releases. Don Jazzy, who was raised in the Ajegunle slum, now leads a lavish lifestyle.

Nigerian comedian Mark Angel is a well-known YouTube celebrity. He was raised in Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria, where he was born. He is an Imo State native.

The creator and host of the well-known comedy skit “Mark Angel Comedy,” a brief comedy video posted every Friday on YouTube, is Mark Angel. More than 6 million people subscribe to Mark Angel’s YouTube channel, and he also has more than 6 million fans on his official Facebook page and more than 1 million followers on his official Instagram account. Mark Angel was born into a low-income family.

Mark Angel is a dropout who did not finish his studies at the university. Mark Angel was accepted into Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria in 2008 to pursue a degree in medicine and surgery. Unfortunately, his sponsor passed away a few months later, forcing him to leave school because no one was left to support him academically.

Due to financial difficulties, Mark Angel left Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife and moved to Lagos, where he stayed with a friend. He made the decision to stop going to school because he knew no one would sponsor him. Instead, he traveled to India to study cinematography using the money from his savings.

Mark Angel returned to Nigeria in 2010 after spending six months studying cinematography there. He then worked in Nollywood.

He began his career as an editor and director of photography for Nollywood films (DOP). After learning that the pay was lower and some producers could not even pay him, he left Nollywood a few years later.

In 2012, Mark Angel and his friend Denison Igwe got together and made the decision to launch a comedy-focused online media company. Mark Angel Comedy, a weekly comedy skit posted on YouTube every Friday, was born from that concept. The most successful YouTuber in Nigeria today, Mark Angel, makes over $100,000 per month.

In a past interview with Tribune, the actress said she sometimes cries on set because she remembers where she started.

She claimed that her family had once moved into an unfinished structure where they shared their home with lizards and had to take cover when it rained.

5. Patoranking

Before becoming famous for his hit song “Alubarika,” Patoranking had to drop out of school because of his financial situation, relocate from Cape Coast to Accra, and spend the majority of his nights scavenging for food on the streets of Osu.

According to Patoranking, his song “Nothing to Something” is a biography of his life. The reggae singer then operated a rat poison stand in the street and lived in a one-room apartment.

In order to fulfill his dreams, he also worked as a bricklayer for a while.
