Biafra: Any Igbo person who wants to leave Nigeria is unthinkable — Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that somebody from the South-East would never want to leave Nigeria.

Buhari was perplexed as to why certain Igbos are calling for separation.

Igbo people are important in Nigeria, according to the president, and they operate profitable enterprises all around the country.

During his one-day official visit to Imo State, Buhari revealed this during a town hall meeting with South-East leaders.

With less than two years left in his eight-year presidency, the president said in a statement that security will remain a top concern for his administration.

On Thursday, Buhari’s communications adviser, Femi Adesina, issued a statement that said, “I want to be remembered as a president who stabilized Nigeria, President Buhari tells South-East leaders.”

“The basic thing about the Igbo people is that there is no town you will visit in Nigeria without seeing the Igbos in command of either infrastructure or the pharmaceutical industry,” the President added, praising their resourcefulness and enterprising spirit.

“As a result, it is unfathomable to me that any Igbo man does not consider himself a Nigerian.

Igbos are in charge of Nigeria’s economy, and the evidence is there for everyone to see.”
